The ARGO AstronauticsMulti-Purpose Utility Vehicles (MPUV, commonly known as Argo) are multipurpose utility vehicles designed for extreme environments but do not have a quantum drive. The vehicle is also commonly used by human companies like Shubin Interstellar and the military.[1]
The MPUV-1C (Multi-Purpose Utility Vehicle Cargo), or more commonly known as the Argo Cargo, is a light transport ship manufactured by Argo Astronaustics and is designed to transfer small amounts of freight over a short distance. The cargo pod can also accommodate a single passenger.
Many are responsible for loading/unloading goods onto massive vessels that have difficulty either landing or using drydocks, such as the Hull D or the Orion. Some captains choose to own and operate their MPUV-1C, while others pay privately owned ships operating as port services a rental fee for performing the unloading process.[2][3] Many MPUV-1Cs are also used to conduct ship-to-ship transfers between capital ships such as the Javelin and Idris.
The ArgoMPUV-1P (Multi-Purpose Utility Vehicle Personnel or Argo Personnel) is geared towards a simple but incredibly important responsibility: moving groups of people from place to place. The UEE Navy uses MPUV-1Ps extensively, and any new recruit can likely recall those terrifying moments in which such a ship carried them to their first space assignment. In civilian hands, Argo Personnel ships are adapted for everything from standard taxi services to use as makeshift combat dropships. The ARGO is capable of carrying up to eight humans and their equipment.[2][4]
The Argo MPUV-1T or MPUV Tractor is a snub ship outfitted with a tractor beam used for handling cargo. Its porter chassis is equipped with two tractor beams to facilitate the handling of cargo, showcasing the distinctive Argo construction excellence, and a flexible configuration that can accommodate diverse loading tasks. Setting benchmarks in terms of rapidity and effectiveness, it is challenging to locate a freight business of high caliber that does not rely on a fleet of MPUVs for its operations.[5]
