The Eastern Expansion Program was created by the United Nations of Earth sometime after their founding in 2380, and before the discovery of the Vega system in 2402.[1]
The program was originally created to help support NavJumpers searching for new systems throughout the verse, and was meant to encourage people to fill colony ships charted for new territories.[2]
In 2412 the program was rebranded as Project Far Star and was given new life. Project Far Star was considered a key driver of the Human Colonial Expansion Era.[2]
