The Anthony Tanaka Remembrance Day is a holiday in the United Empire of Earth (UEE) held annually on December 3rd, to remember the death of Anthony Tanaka. A child laborer was publicly executed by a member of the Advocacy for refusal to continue working. Footage of the the incident was used by members of the anti-Messer movement to encourage resistance against the cruelty of the Messer government.
In 2793, after the Anti-Messer Revolution, Imperator Erin Toi signed a declaration recognizing the anniversary of Anthony Tanaka's death as a holiday. Traditionally, observers light candles while observing a moment of silence. [1][2][3]
