Lewis Thompson was Senior Prop Artist at Cloud Imperium Games working on Star Citizen.[1]
Work at CIG
He started at CIG as a mid level Prop Artist II, then Prop Artist III and now Senior Prop Artist.[1]
Among other things he made the medical beds.[2]
He left CIG in June 2024.[3]
Other Works
He was a weapon artist on Ghost Recon Breakpoint at Ubisoft Bucharest for two years, as he was insistant on working on AAA games and was willing to relocate to another country and get payed less for that.[1]
Early Life
At school he wanted to be an aircraft engineer, he studied engineering and drama, but his opportunities around were limited, such as working on cars or being a fighter pilot which wasn't his interest so his dream died.[1]
He loved video games and made friends by playing, he applied for a games course at a local college which shut down the same year, but they had an IT course and as he was into computers he studied IT.[1] Once he got to the end of college he decided to go into game development and decided to work at Ubisoft as he was playing the early Assassin Creed games.[1]
He went to a game design course at Staffordshire University.[1] He spent the first two years exploring the options and the 3rd year he decided to go into 3D art and worked on his portfolio.[1]
