Incan Monkey God Studios

From the Star Citizen Wiki, the fidelity™ encyclopedia

Incan Monkey God Studios is a Cloud Imperium Games partner.

David Ladyman from Incan Monkey God Studios is responsible for publications such as Jump Point magazine, as well as among others the economy boardgame that was used to first test out the economy in broad strokes before putting hours of programing into individual systems.

History

The members of Incan Monkey God Studios were originally an in-house publications department at Origin Systems working on immersive manuals from 1991.[1] There were creating the documentation and strategy guides for all of Origin’s games, including Ultima, Wing Commander and the Jane’s series of flight simulations.

In 1997, Origin Systems which had since been acquired by Electronic Arts was trying to trim the headcount and was moving the documentation to California. The team decided to leave Origin together rather than get split up, which is how they formed Incan Monkey God Studios.

This was also when Ultima Online and Everquest were starting to make it big. The group had experience with writing for the mmo scene with Ultima Online and with writing manuals written for Origin Systems but published by Prima Games. When the group went independant they maintained their connection with Prima. Thus Incan Monkey God Studio was making all their mmo guides, which got them into Everquest I & II, Anarchy Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Asheron’s Call I & II, Star Wars Galaxies, Guild Wars, Lineage 2, Matrix, Lord of the Rings Online and DC Universe Online.

The name is based on a Dilbert cartoon.
