The Intel Optane SSD 900P was a Solid State Drive using a combination of 3D XPoint™ memory media with Intel’s advanced system memory controller, interface hardware, and software. It was launched on October 2017 during CitizenCon.[1]
Intel partnered with Cloud Imperium Games to promote the intel Optane SSD 900P, with CIG providing a Sabre Raven to all buyers of the drive for a limited time.[2][3]
CitizenCon 2017 was sponsored by Intel, and during the event Chris Roberts gave away one Intel Optane drive to an audience member, with 150 more drives being distributed among attendants who had a golden ticket in their goodie bag.[1]
Intel Optane drives were also donated by Intel to CIG, which CIG said helped compile a lot faster.[1]
The promotion ended in 2018, and the Intel Optane SSDs have been discontinued.[4] Any codes for a Saber Raven that might still be found are not valid anymore.
