The Perry Line was the frontier between the UEE and the Xi'an Empire during the Xi'an Cold War. It was named in honor of Navy General Armistead Perry.[1] The systems that once comprised the line are now known as the Transitional Systems.

History
The Perry Line was known as the interstellar fortified no-mans land between the United Empire of Earth and the Xi'an. The UEE administration named the systems after deities of war. The zone was established shortly after finding a Xi'an explorer vessel in Gurzil in 2542, with the system beginning its transition into a militarized zone.
- 2483 (III.802 MXY) - Th.us'ūng system discovered by a scanning drone owned by the Pō’t.ōngp.ū. The system is primarily used by the Xi'an government as a testbed for experimental terraforming technology.[2]
- 2515 (III.826 MXY) - Kyuk'ya system discovered by a Xi'an mining escort convoy via Yā'mon.[3]
- 2528 - Navjumper Marie Sante reports her discovery of a new system to the UPE, alongside detailed documentation describing its celestial bodies. She continues to search the system for more secrets.[4]
- 2529 - The Yā'mon system is discovered by Xi'an navjumper Āi se Cho'an. The system is designated as a supply system for the Xi'an military and placed under its protection.[5]
- 2530 (III.838 MXY) - Human navjumper Kathryn Segovia discovers the Th.us'ūng system via Baker and sells the Jump Point's location to the terraforming company Gaia Planet Services. In order to offset the cost of this purchase, GPS opts not to report the discovery to the UPE.[6]
When GPS surveyors land on the third world from the system's sun Se'kith, they are quickly captured by the Xi'an, thus kicking off the events that would start the Xi'an-Human Cold War.[7]
- 2531 - Human explorer Teesa Morrison discovers the Yā'mon system via Baker, encountering a Xi'an military escort team. High Naval Commander of the UPE Armistead Perry proposes that Xi'an systems connected to the UPE be placed under control of the Navy in case of an attack. [8]
- 2539 - Human explorer Dahunsil Kosoko discovers the Odara system via Hadrian.[9]
- 2542 - Xi'an explorer Nē" se Ruoth discovers Odara via R.il'a. The UPE responds by incorporating the system into the newly created Perry Line and changing its name to Gurzil, after an ancient Human deity of war.[10] Yā'mon is the first system in the Perry Line, and it is designated Hadur after an ancient Human war deity. Th.us'ūng system is designated as Pallas.
- 2542 - Marie Sante finds a Jump Point in her system that leads to R.il'a - a heavily militarized staging post of the Xi'an Empire. The UPE closes her system to non-military personnel and designates it Horus as part of the Perry Line.[11]
- 2548 - The UPE learns of the Kyuk'ya system via Yā'mon. It is adopted into the Perry Line and given the military designation Indra after an ancient Human god of war.[12]
- 2566 (III.866 MXY) - Test pilots for the Xi'an House Ng.at'ak discover a system during the preliminary flight of a cargo ship prototype. The Emperor orders the construction of a colony on the third planet from the star, which has a naturally-occurring nitrogen-oxygen atmosphere and favorable climate conditions.[13]
- 2587 (III.882 MXY) - UEE Navy Lieutenant Eli Price discovers the same system that had been found by House Ng.at'ak in 2566. The Xi'an government recalls the colonists from the third planet and leaves their unfinished settlement abandoned. The UEE claimes the system and adds it to the Perry Line, designating it Oya after an ancient Human deity of wind, storms, and death.[14]
- 2716 - Smugglers Oisha Suen and Aadya Firmino discover a system via Nyx.[15]
- 2719 - The UEE Navy locates a Jump Point to Suen and Firmino's system from Oya. The system is designated Tohil and added to the Perry Line.[16]
- 2759 (III.1017 MXY) - A group of Xi'an outlaws discoveres the La'uo system via Ē'aluth. They make the system into their base of operations. Although the Xi'an government learns of the system's existence soon afterwards, they decline to claim it due to its lack of terraformable planets.[17]
- 2771 (III.1026 MXY) - The UEE military detects a jump point from the Tohil system system to La'uo, forcing the outlaws that had lived there to flee as military ships from both sides of the Xi'an-Human Cold War flood in and take their place. La'uo is incorporated into the Perry Line under the designation Virtus.[18]
Perry Line Pact and Dissolution
On 2793-07-05, the Perry Line Pact was ratified and signed by both sides, officially bringing to end the Cold War and birthing a new diplomatic era between the UEE and the Xi'an Empire, one that has stayed strong through today. The Perry Line systems were split up between the UEE and the Xi'an Empire, becoming what are now known as the Transitional Systems.[19]
