The Intel Optane SSD 900P was an SSD was a Solid State Drive using a combination of 3D XPoint™ memory media with Intel’s advanced system memory controller, interface hardware, and software. It was launched on October 2017 during CitizenCon. [1]
Intel partnered with Cloud Imperium Games to promote the intel Optane SSD 900P, with CIG providing a Sabre Raven to buyers of the drive.[2]
CitizenCon 2017 was sponsored by Intel, and during the event Chris Roberts gave away on Intel Optane the audience.[1]
The promotion ended in 2018, and the Intel Optane SSDs have been discontinued.
