Challenge coins are collectible coins with an emblem, usually given at certain events, for belonging to a group, or to mark an achievement.
Historically, challenge coins were presented by unit commanders in recognition of special achievement by a member of the unit.[1]
Star Citizen challenge coins
Star Citizen themed challenge coins can be official, for example sold in the official shop during a specific CitizenCon or given at some official Bar Citizen, or they can be unofficial, also from a Bar Citizen event or for belonging to a Star Citizen organization.[2][3] Official challenge coins are produced in limited numbers.
Challenge coins are also present in the game itself.[4]
