The final planet in the Nyx System, located far from the sun's light, is an ice giant. A massive ball of frozen water and ammonia vapor, Nyx III has only seen minimal resource extraction owing to the hazardous work conditions in the planet’s dangerous atmosphere. [1]
Its stormy atmosphere is composed mainly of ammonia and water vapor, and an ocean of supercritical water surrounds the planet's rocky core. High, dangerous winds prevent miners from extracting resources.[2]
Development
Earlier descriptions of Nyx III described the planet as having a surface where ships could land, but EVA is impossible[3]. This was later removed from the Galactic Guide[1]. Ice Giants are planets like Uranus and Neptune, and lack a well-defined solid surface.[4] The nature of an Ice Giant is better reflected in the Galactapedia description of Nyx III.[2]
