The RSI Pegasus-class Escort Carrier is the Empire's premier small carrier, capable of supporting the operations of up to 32 starfighters far from friendly supply.[1] Typically it will accommodate 16 Hornets and 16 Gladiators, but the fighter groups can be tailored as missions demand. In addition to the fighters, there are also two Argo Utility Ships on-board. If needed, two Retaliators can be held in underslung positions.[2]

Development

Originally named the Panther, The Pegasus was part of the $15 million stretch goal, which was reached prior to August 1, 2013. The ship concept was designed by Ryan Church (Freelance Conceptist). It was being developed by Foundry 42 and was last said to be in the white-boxing phase on December 2014.[1] It was to be featured in the second installment of Squadron 42.[3]

Trivia

  • A Pegasus was described as being the player's home for a significant part of Squadron 42[2]
  • The whitebox interior of the Pegasus was among the files from the leak that happened on the week of May 22 in 2015.
  • As of late 2021, while it is presumed that this ship will still appear in Squadron 42, no further official information has been forthcoming since the references listed in this article.
