The ROC (Remote Ore Collector) is a single-seat mining ground vehicle developed by Greycat Industrial. Emphasizing the fundamental aspects of land-based mining, Greycat has created the robust and practical ROC to support the miners who operate it. Featuring a precision gimbaled mining arm and all-terrain wheels, this independently operated vehicle exemplifies the significance of utilizing the appropriate equipment for the task at hand.[1][2]

Features

Mining Laser
Unprecedented precision with an industrial-strength punch; the uniquely sized laser is designed for exceptional performance in all situations.[1]
Integrated Extraction Beam
Collect ore safely and conveniently from the cab using the fully integrated tractor beam.[1]
On-board Storage
The ROC has 0.8 SCU of mineral storage that can be accessed through the rear hatch. Be advised that anyone can withdraw from it though, even in armistice or when the vehicle is locked.[1]
Heavy-duty Wheel System
Go where the job takes you. Tackle any terrain (or subterrain) with confidence thanks to the ROC's custom wheels and suspension.[1]
Open-air Cabin
Designed for maximum ease-of-access, visibility, and communication, the ROC's open-air cab gets you closer to the job, at the cost of exposing you to the elements. Be sure to wear protective gear suitable for the environment.[1]
Compact Size
It has been designed so it can fit inside medium sized ships like the Cutlass Black, Nomad, Freelancer MAX, Mercury Star Runner, or Valkyrie, allowing it to be easily transported around the surfaces of planets and moons..[1]

2019-12-08 The ROC was originally announced in CitizenCon 2019 under the provisional name Vehicle 1. It was said to allow mining, extend the inventory of the players, and fit in the most ships.[3]
2020-07-15 It was confirmed to be the ROC when Star Citizen Alpha 3.10.0 was deployed to the PTU. The ROC was the first ground mining vehicle developed in Star Citizen.[4]
2020-08-05 After a lengthy PTU phase, 3.10 was deployed to the Live branch and the ROC was officially revealed on the RSI website and put on sale for $55 USD.[1]
