Other sitesThe Ares Star Fighter Ion is an anti-capital fighter manufactured by Crusader Industries. Designed to lead the charge against capital ships and heavily armed flotillas, the Ares ION excels at spearheading a fleet of fighters and support ships. Its purpose-built Behring SF7E laser cannon accurately delivers high-powered shots to quickly disable the shields of gunships and, with the support of other Ares variants, efficiently incapacitate capital-class vessels.

The Ion houses a 1,000K μSCU storage unit and dedicated gun racks. Both are accessed externally at the aft.
Exclusive to the Ares Ion, this laser cannon is integrated into the ship's frame and can't be swapped. It has a range of at least 8 km.[1] The purpose-built laser cannon accurately delivers high-powered shots to disable the shields of gunships before working with other vessels to incapacitate them.[2]
